CANADIAN DOWN
Canadian goose and duck down is renowned for its superior loft and warmth. Canadian geese and ducks are raised for their down and, hence, are allowed to mature producing a higher quality down. A larger, more mature down traps more air thereby insulating better and requires less weight (fill) for a superior natural light, warm cover. There is a true difference compared to cheaper Asian down where the birds are raised for their meat and the down is merely a cheap byproduct. The beauty and comfort of down from a mature Canadian bird is the loft factor. Loft is the amount of air trapped by each ounce of down, which acts as a natural insulator. The higher the loft factor, the superior the duvet (down comforter). A true loft of between 550 and 700 is excellent. With this loft, fewer ounces are necessary as the greater warmth factor comes into play. SUPERIOR WHITE GOOSE DOWN The “HUTTERITE” community in Western Canada produces this special high lofting Canadian White Goose Down. Hutterite and European white goose downs are considered among the best in the world. These fillings loft at 650 to 700+ cubic inches per ounce and produce an exceptional quality high loft Down Duvet. HIGH LOFT WHITE GOOSE DOWN (CANADIAN PROCESSED) This quality White Goose Down filling meets the and exceeds all government standards. This quality is used in our “POLAR GEAR” product range. Processed in Canada to the highest standards of cleanliness. It has a minimum loft factor of 575+ cubic inches per ounce. CANADIAN WHITE DUCK DOWN This all-Canadian White Down is selected from domestic farms and produces a very high quality product at a lower price. This down has a loft factor of 600+ cubic inches per ounce. |
